Hey there! This is the page you're 'sposed to be at if you're my Tumblr follower and are entering the giveaway I am hosting on there. :)

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Guys!

So what's been happening - I started medical school back in April, so I'm not dead, just busy! lol I've mostly been updating on my Tumblr, and my apologies for neglecting you all. Life has been more than hectic to say the absolute least. I have, however, come back with some awesome photos of my Edwardian impression.

I have not updated in forever, but here's something to see:

So 99% of my late Victorian era/early Edwardian era impression is complete. Still trying to do more research and decide the preference for this ensemble.

Gotta work on the hair-do and getting the right stockings and shoes for it;;

Also, have some scandalous-ness:

The queen would be quite offended!
Also tore my stocking, but eh, they're crappy and were just there for improvisation 'til I can acquire better ones.

Gonna copy/pasta this from my Tumblr:
(Click on photo for larger size)

Welp, I almost have this bad boy complete. All that’s left is to acquire the buttons and pickelhaube for this steampunk impression and I’m done.
The word “Militärpolizei" is, from what I've read up, the literal translation of "military police". This outfit itself doesn't originate 100% from the historically-accurate designs of actual Schutzpolizei or Feldgendarmerie uniforms. Technically, it’s either Prussian or Imperial German, since it’s based on the German uniforms of the World War I era.
I had the desire to design my own thing and perhaps put a slight back-story to this since it does pertain to alternate history in its own way, I suppose.
I can’t wait to get this done so I can strut my stuff at historical happenings and such.

"Steampunk Gibson Girl"

I know it's not a creative title, but I'm pretty proud of this piece. FIRST STEAMPUNK ARTWORK EVER. Also, this newer version of Photoshop I have acquired has made creating things like this easier. It's taking some getting used to, but I've been content with what I'm dishing out.

My artwork is copyrighted. DON'T USE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION PLEASE.

I might as well have to begin with...

That's right. I made a blog that didn't consist of a subdomain on Tumblr. I thought I would start this as a blog to document my historical garment working, past, present, and future ideas and such.

I chose the title "Mutton Sleeves or Bust" because although the stuff I mainly do is Edwardian, I love the fashion styles of the late Victorian era, particularly the invention of the Leg o' Mutton sleeves seen in women's fashion. After all, each era of fashion has a forefather, right?

This blog will contain personal costuming posts, a few tutorials maybe, event photos, helpful links, photographs, and all the good historical stuff. I'm a fun person, so this won't your average old lady history teacher class in middle school. (No offense, old ladies who teach. Some of you are cool, though, so no worries.)

I also take requests as to what sorts of things I post, i.e., photographic information, questions about what I do and how I make things, etc. I'm not quite sure how this thing works, but if you have any questions or just wanna chit chat, just hit me up! :)

Happy Blogging to you!
